Very interesting and informative discussion, thanks. Re. Calgary and the new budget, Carrie Tait at the Globe & Mail wrote today that the the budget is "devoid of any financial support for Alberta’s largest city, which hoped to garner a boost for its still-struggling downtown core.

"Deborah Yedlin, president of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, said the lack of support sends a bad message.

'Zero is an insult,' she told reporters."

If Calgary politicians remain actively critical of the budget up to the election, I wonder how that will influence the probably decisive battle for Calgary seats.

If I'm being cynical, though, the UCP doesn't really have to worry much about the downtown core.
