Welcome to the Weekly Writ, a round-up of the latest federal and provincial polls, election news and political trivia that lands in your inbox every Wednesday morning.

In this installment of the Weekly Writ, I take a look at what the latest polls are showing about Canadians’ views of the pandemic and the protests, break down the results of yesterday’s surprising Saskatchewan byelection in Athabasca and see where things stand in an upcoming byelection in Quebec.

Then, I profile the riding of Fort McMurray–Lac La Biche, which finally has a byelection date of its own, look back to Nunavut’s second election as a territory and mark a milestone for François Legault.

Let’s get to it.

IN THE NEWS

Protests in Ottawa are (checks notes) still happening
