With, the game of chess going on between the opposition, legault and the non confidence vote, it'll be really interesting to see how the pieces fall.

The CPC is trying to paint them in a bad light. I suspect that, now that the Bloc and NDP said they would support the government, the Conservatives will make changes to the wording of the no confidence vote to make them look even worst. Truly, the wind is in their sails and the strategists have been owning the other parties. I can't remember where it was, CTV or CBC panels, said that they couldn't remember the last time an opposition party was able to set the narrative like the CPC does now. They have set the narrative and forced changes from the government.

I find it funny that the NDP is screaming victory, saying that the conservatives threw money like no other to try and get that seat and lost. I would argue that they are toast once the general is called. They will not hold that seat when everyone goes to vote. Plus, the CPC could outspend all other parties together and still have pocket change left for another election.

Talking about the 1996 Hamilton East by-election reminded me of the Toronto Sun cartoon the next day, in which the cartoonist (Donato?) drew those voters as *literal* butt-heads. :-)
