But if the PMO is running the show does it matter if the new minister is a rookie

Bill Blair was placed in Defence as he just ignores criticism of his performance and spins the situation, so he should be a fit, hate to be Gen Eyre right now because there will be no loyalty to him coming down

I invite journalists on the podcast because of their expertise and knowledge. No one was representing any partisan point of view.

Well I understand that premise, they are both journalists with a reddish outlook on the world shall we say. so as I listened they were also defending the changes as well and trying to put a good spin on it. Would this not of been the perfect opportunity to hear from how someone with a blueish tinge or is that another podcast.

I'll have to disagree with you, as I think Stephanie and Aaron raised some good, critical questions about some of the decisions made around this shuffle, as well as explanations of what the Liberals might have been thinking with their moves.

If you're looking for more partisan perspectives, I generally don't do that on the podcast. But I do have a regular panel of pollsters who have worked for the Liberals, Conservatives and NDP on the podcast from time to time. Here was the last episode we did: https://www.thewrit.ca/p/the-writ-podcast-episode-ninety-six

I wasn’t looking for more partisan. Is a red tory so I don’t swim to far from the center buoy, was a question as to the process, let’s say you had two blushing blue leaning guests, that would, I believe not be as forgiving and supportive of all his changes. Just my thoughts. Tks for the link

Ah, I see. Perhaps I have my own blinders, but how someone 'leans' isn't really something I take into consideration. I like having guests who are thoughtful, bring their own analysis to the table and don't put a "spin" on things. Only when it is a specifically partisan podcast (i.e. I want to have a Liberal, Conservative and NDP point-of-view, like in the pollster panel, or I want to speak specifically to Conservatives about their leadership race, etc.) do I think about this.
